Praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord;
give praise, O servants of the Lord,
you that stand in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God.
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good,
sing to his name, for he is gracious.
(Church in Wales Lectionary, New Revised Standard Version)
During the last year many of us have found it difficult to 'Praise the Lord'. Why? Well perhaps because of being in the middle of a pandemic hasn't helped, particularly if we have lost family members. Or again because most of us have been unable to attend worship or to sing in church. Certainly for me, praising God, has always involved song and music. It is a joyful thing, when we think about all that God has given us and all that He does for us - the way He has rescued us through His Son, Jesus Christ.
So with Spring in the air, can we lift our eyes to praise God our Maker, our Saviour, and our Redeemer, in word or in song?
Lord God,
we praise Your name,
we praise You for Your mighty deeds,
we praise You for Your steadfast love,
we praise You for Your goodness,
we praise You for Your Word
through which our world was created.
Praise the Lord!
Amen.
