Other stories about sowing seeds
The parable of the Sower is found in all three Synoptic Gospels - that is Matthew, Mark and Luke. These gospels have a lot in common with one another, and shared some of their sources to their own material. They were also written for different 'markets'. You might like to look up the three stories and compare their differences and similarities:
Matthew Chapter 13, verses 1-23
Mark Chapter 4, verses 1-20
Luke, Chapter 8 verses 4-15
And what about John's Gospel? Ah well that's a different story, his gospel was written later and doesn't seem to share all the same material.
