More information about St Paul
We have seen the story of Saul and the new Church today, but what was his background, and why did he change his name to Paul?
- It seems likely that Saul had two names, one Hebrew and one Roman. Look up Acts Chapter 13.9.
- Paul was a Jew, born in the Roman city of Tarsus. He was proud of being a Jew. Look up Philippians Chapter 3.5.
- Saul began to use his Roman name Paul, on Cyprus when the Roman proconsul on the island converted to Christianity. Look up Acts Chapter 13.12.
