Identifying false prophets within the church as well as in the world
We have looked at identifying false prophets by their fruit, but we need to be aware that false prophets appear in the church as well. How might we identify these by their fruits? Here are some thoughts:
False prophets often dislike talking about Sin and Repentance, and yet we know that it is sin that separates us from God. See what Jesus says: Mark 7.20-23
False prophets will argue that if a person is unwell, mentally or physically, then their relationship with God is wrong and they should be praying more, or if they haven't enough money then they must be something wrong. Look at what Jesus says about this: Matthew 6.19-21, and about the poor and our actions: Isaiah 58.6-8
