A look at the original hymn of 'There were ninety and nine'

The original hymn 'There were ninety and nine' was written by Elizabeth Cecilia Clephane, who was the daughter of Andrew Clephane, Sheriff of Fife, Edinburgh. She wrote it for children in 1868. It was then produced by Mr I. Sankey put to music, and it appeared in his gospel services. There are a number of versions of the music, but the best recording of this hymn is by Acapeldridge, (aka G. Michael Eldridge) who sings all four parts of the hymn himself. See: https://www.faithpot.com/ninety-and-nine-acapeldridge/
