Quietening our minds and bodies
If you find it difficult to quieten your body or mind to talk to God, try the following:
- Find a peaceful place where you won't be disturbed.
- Sit comfortably.
- Close your eyes.
- Scrunch up both feet as tight as you can, and then relax them.
- Do the same with your ankles.
- Continue throughout the body: calves, knees, hips, pelvic floor muscles, stomach, ribs and back, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, neck, head, face - chin, nose, eyes, forehead.
- Finally notice your beathing, in and out, in and out!
You should be very relaxed by now, and ready to talk and listen to God.
