More about Psalms of Assent
Psalm 127 is one of a group of psalms that are called 'The Songs of Ascent'. They comprise Psalms 120-134, and are often called the Pilgrim Songs. Psalm 127 has been attributed to Solomon, a few others to King David, and the rest are anonymous. These songs were sung as the pilgrims climbed the hills to Jerusalem and finally reached the Temple to celebrate one of the annual festivals.
